love this sooo much!

The architects combined Gothic and modern styles in the design of the building. Black brick on the frontage of the building (symbolizing coal) was selected to give an idea of solidity and to give the building a solid mass. Other parts of the facade were covered in gold bricks (symbolizing fire), and the entry was decorated with marble and black mirrors.

Astronomy Photo of the DayJune 11th, 2013 This glorious celestial region is known as the Pelican nebula (also known as IC 5070), which spans an incredible 1,800 light-years in diameter (in the constellation of Cygnus)! This particular shot is of the area as viewed using narrow-band filters, which operate by isolating red emission lines of hydrogen and sulfur. Most notably, the Pelican nebula is known for the large number of shock-waves, formed as a result of powerful outflows from newborn stars embedded in the molecular cloud that comprises the entirety of the region (and the closely related “North America nebula,” which are separated by a large absorption cloud. The two are formally known as “W80”).Said outflows from powerful stars are known for taking filaments of dense, cold gas and transforming them into hot gas, which plays a role in shaping this celestial region into its namesake, a pelican.Larger Image: http://www.noao.edu/image_gallery/images/d2/pelican_1000.jpg- JaimeFurther Reading: “Pelican Nebula:”http://www.calvin.edu/academic/phys/observatory/images/Astr384.Spring2004/Vache.htmlImage Credit: University of Colorado, University of Hawaii and NOAO/AURA/NSF
